  1. E <\/strong>\u03b5<\/strong>\u2014 The Most Silent Letter<\/strong><\/p>

    In ancient Greek, E (epsilon)<\/strong> is the only vowel whose name does not<\/strong> describe what it is.<\/p>

    • Alpha<\/strong> means beginning<\/em><\/li>
    • Omega<\/strong> means great \/ final<\/em><\/li>
    • Iota<\/strong> names its own sound<\/li>

      bare, simple, unadorned, without breath<\/em><\/p>

      In ancient pronunciation theory, psil\u00f3n<\/em> meant without aspiration<\/strong> \u2014
