A photon is a\r\n            <strong>quantum of electromagnetic radiation<\/strong> \u2014\r\n            a complete packet emitted or absorbed as a unit.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n\r\n        <p class=\"qn-point\">\r\n            <i class=\"fas fa-thumbtack\"><\/i>\r\n            We do not detect half a photon.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n\r\n        <p>\r\n            Photons, however, do not all have the same energy;\r\n            their energy depends on their frequency.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n\r\n        <hr class=\"qn-separator\">\r\n\r\n        <p>\r\n            Quantum theory does not tell us that the whole of nature\r\n            moves to a single, hidden metronome.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n\r\n        <p>\r\n            It reveals something subtler and stranger: certain physical\r\n            quantities are exchanged in discrete packets and do not always\r\n            vary in the continuous way our senses lead us to expect.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n\r\n        <hr class=\"qn-separator\">\r\n\r\n        <p class=\"qn-highlight\">\r\n            <i class=\"fas fa-brain\"><\/i>\r\n            <strong>Keep this in mind:<\/strong><br>\r\n            In the quantum world, nature does not always give us\r\n            an unbroken line.
