The Geometry of Time and Engraving

  1. The Shape: The Hourglass The letter X is the ultimate representation of an Hourglass.
  • The Upper Section: The Past, emptying its contents.
  • The Lower Section: The Future, continuously filling.
  • The Point of Contact (The Intersection): This is the Present. An infinitesimal moment, a tiny “aperture” through which time flows. The “now” is the exact spark where the future is instantaneously transformed into the past.
  1. The Sound and the Act of Engraving: The sound of X (Chi) mimics the sound produced by Engraving (scratching a surface). To write, one must first engrave.
  • Chaos (Χάος): The vast expanse, the “gaping” void (chasko).
  • Chara / Joy (Χαρά): The release of the soul, the light that “breaks” (charazei) the darkness.
  • Cheir / Hand (Χείρ): The primary tool of engraving; the hand.

  • Chronology: The study of time (Chronos).
  • Christ: The Anointed One (Christos).
